East Carroll Parish, Louisiana.
The LSU broadside, available on microfilm, declares the sale of Ashton Plantation
along with 98 slaves in 1859. Ashton consisted of 1,800 acres on Bayou Macon
and the Mississippi River. It was owned by Dr. William Webb Wilkins.
There is currently a subdivision named, Ashton Plantation, in St. Charles Parish, Louisiana.
